      Mebaru is very rare to be eaten as sushi. The meat is crunchy and tender which has a great balance of fat. The meat has sweet-sour hint at the end. The color of the meat is slightly similar to snapper; white clear to pink.

The  average  size  is  20  cm.  It  is considered  as  expensive fish.

They can be caught by net. The season is spring to summer.
